Ten real questions we get on every discovery call, answered plainly. Pricing, coverage, timelines, drone licensing, package inclusions - all in one place. If there's something not covered here, WhatsApp us and we'll usually reply the same day.
Video production in Suffolk typically ranges from £75 for a short social reel, up to £2,500 for a full brand film, with most projects landing between £200 and £800. The honest answer is that pricing depends entirely on what the film needs to do, where it'll live, and how long it should last.
PKING MEDIA prices every project transparently after a free 30-minute discovery call - no padded day rates, no surprise charges.
We're based in Ipswich, Suffolk, and work primarily across the East of England - Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, and Cambridgeshire. We also travel UK-wide for the right brief.
There's no extra travel charge inside a 30 mile drive from Ipswich. For London or further afield, travel and accommodation are quoted at-cost with no markup. About 70% of our projects are within an hour of Ipswich, which is exactly the local focus we set out with.
A typical PKING MEDIA package includes:
We don't nickel-and-dime clients with line-items for things every video needs. If it's essential to making the film work, it's in the price.
Most projects take 3-6 weeks from initial brief to final delivery. A simple social-media reel can turn around in 7-10 days; a full brand film with multiple shoot days, on-screen interviews, and licensed music typically runs 5-8 weeks.
We schedule the shoot within 2-3 weeks of brief sign-off, and editing usually takes 2-3 weeks depending on length and complexity. Urgent turnarounds are possible - some of our best work has been week-long sprints for product launches.
A Suffolk production company costs 70-80% less than a comparable London agency, while delivering the same quality of work.
PKING MEDIA's founder Perran King trained inside a London production house at 16 - editing for global drinks brands, shooting at Abbey Road, cutting work that ran on GRM Daily - and brought that calibre home without the capital-city overheads. You're not trading down on craft; you're trading out the markup that pays for a Soho address.
Local also means we can meet in person, scout your location ourselves, and turn around revisions inside an afternoon.
Yes - we hold the necessary CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) operational authorisations for commercial drone work, and we carry full public liability insurance up to £5 million.
We fly across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, and Cambridgeshire for property films, aerial event coverage, landscape work, and roof/structural inspections. All flights are planned around current airspace restrictions, and we handle the landowner permissions, NOTAM filings, and safety briefings as standard. We'll never quote a job we can't legally and safely fly.
The discovery call is a 30-minute Zoom or in-person conversation with Perran - no pitch deck, no sales pressure.
We'll talk through what you're trying to achieve, who the work is for, and the practical constraints around timeline and budget. Within 48 hours you'll get a written proposal covering the recommended approach, deliverables, timeline, and a fixed all-in price.
If it's a fit, we book the shoot. If it's not, we'll point you toward someone who is - no hard feelings, no follow-up emails.
About 80% of our work is for independent businesses, owner-operators, and small-to-medium enterprises across Suffolk and the East of England.
Some of our most rewarding projects have been for one-person workshops, family-run breweries, independent estate agents, and craft makers - alongside heritage brands like Le Creuset and Titchmarsh & Goodwin. We deliberately price for independent businesses so the work is accessible.
If you've ever thought "video isn't for businesses our size", that's exactly the assumption we set up to push back against.
Video production is project-based - you brief one campaign, we shoot and deliver it.
Social media management is ongoing - we handle the strategy, content capture, editing, scheduling, and reporting across your channels every month.
Most clients start with a one-off brand film or product launch, then move to a monthly social retainer once they see the engagement uplift. We can also slot in monthly content shoots without managing the channels themselves, if you've got an internal team handling posting and engagement.
PKING MEDIA was founded in March 2020 by Perran King, a Suffolk-born filmmaker who started his career at 16 with an internship at a London production company - editing for global brands, shooting at Abbey Road Studios, and cutting work that landed on GRM Daily.
After completing a Level 4 Higher Education Diploma in Creative Enterprise with Distinction, he came back to Suffolk to set up the studio. The mission is straightforward: give independent businesses access to world-class production without London prices, and give local young creatives the same opportunities Perran had without the cost of commuting to the capital.
The studio has worked with 20+ brands across the UK since launch, including Le Creuset, Fishers Gin, Titchmarsh & Goodwin, and RSK Group.
